ROPE

Rope is where aerial silks began, and my rope classes are a brilliant way to build grip, strength and confidence – whether you're brand new to aerial or already climbing. It's a friendly, encouraging group and new faces are always welcome. Come and give it a go in West Dorset.

Classes are held just outside Beaminster in West Dorset.

They're small – typically no more than 9 people – and must be booked in advance.

MIXED ABILITY

The mixed-ability rope class covers – warm-up and conditioning, climbs, foot-locks & first inversions.

INTERMEDIATE

Intermediates will work on more advanced climbs, wraps, drops and sequences.

ONE - 2 - ONES

One-to-one classes are tailored to you and what you hope to achieve. You can book half-hour or one-hour slots depending on your level of aerial fitness – or share a class with one or two others to allow proper rest between turns. One-to-ones typically focus on sequences, often set to music, along with drops and more intense, focused conditioning.

ABOUT AERIAL ROPE

Aerial rope, known in the circus by its French name corde lisse (“smooth rope”), is one of the oldest and simplest aerial skills: a single thick, soft rope hanging from above, and nothing else. Aerial acrobatics is thought to go back to the rope dancers of medieval fairs, and the rope is where aerial silks began, so learning it means learning the roots of the art. It looks deceptively simple, but climbing, wrapping, hanging and spinning on a single rope builds grip, strength and body control, and it's a great partner to silks. My aerial rope classes in West Dorset are open to beginners and improvers alike.
